Life Drawing - 25min poses

I had a pretty good morning at life drawing today. I threw away a few disasters but salvaged some lessons from today's experience.

I'm beginning to utilize some of the advice of Richard Schmid from his book Alla Prima in identifying edges and blocking in values while also incorporating line drawing to identify my proportions and add some flourish here and there.

I feel like I'm starting all over again after so long in front of Photoshop and Maya.

5 minute ink drawings...

From this weekend's Figure Drawing session put on by Aaron Coberly at the ArtNot Terminal in downtown Seattle. I used size F and B 'sanguine' Pitt Pens exclusively that day.

7 months and counting...

We did another round of figure drawing today with my wife who's now 7 months pregnant. It was pretty amazing. We could even see him kicking around while she was posing... Anyway here's a couple of 20 minute studies out of my sketchbook.
